By maintaining a regular cleaning
schedule, the life of a computer can be extended many years. In the
long run this could mean big savings for your office. The cleaning service
agreement offered by Parker Computers guarantees your computers will be
cleaned twice per year at a charge of $5.00 per computer per month (this
includes all peripherals except laser printers). Dumb terminals and laser
printers are only $3.00 per month per item. All computers and peripherals
are eligible for cleaning services.
What exactly do we clean? Parker
Computers will remove the cover of each computer. Using several different
techniques we will dust the inside of the computer. Dust on the fan is
the number one reason the power supply in a unit goes out. After
we thoroughly clean the inside we replace the cover. A cleaner is applied
to the outside to restore the case and monitor to a clean appearance. The
keyboard is cleaned with a combination of cleaner and compressed air. All
disk drives in the machine are cleaned with a special purpose cleaner and
solution. The number one reason that disk drives fail is because they are
not used regularly. Dust and dirt will build up in the disk drive until
it is literally impossible to get the disk in the slot. . To improve performance
and speed, defrag is run on the hard drive as needed. For a fraction
of the cost, a good cleaning service can make a high priced maintenance
agreement obsolete. If the equipment is taken care of it should last until
you are ready to get something new.
